For my test I went offline and browsed through my inbox, archived some messages, replied to others, and composed new messages. During all of these tests, Gmail performed as if it was online, but much faster. If I sent a message it would show up in the Outbox, and I received a message telling me so.

When I finally connected Online again, the Outbox counter went down to zero and all of my messages had been sent.

I also tested some searches in Offline mode and everything worked perfectly. In addition, I downloaded and opened a number of attachments effortlessly. Again, it was the same experience as Online Gmail but much faster.
